Hundreds of Pangolins Seized in Two Busts Over the Past Week  0

Since last Saturday, authorities have seized what’s likely to be hundreds of pangolins in Vietnam and Malaysia.


One week ago, wildlife officers in Malaysia nabbed a known poacher found carrying 18 pangolins in his vehicle and only days later, Vietnam police seized five tonnes of frozen pangolins and iguanas in a suspicious bust.

Malaysian Authorities Seize Pangolins from Laos-Bound Cargo  0

Customs officials at a busy Malaysian airport have thwarted an attempt to ship dozens of pangolins to Vientiane, Laos.


Southeast Asian press are reporting on the discovery of some 25 boxes filled with pangolins in cargo bound for Laos at Malaysia’s busiest airport last week, marking the seventh pangolin seizure reported by media around the world so far this year.

Nearly a year after being busted, two men in Malaysia have been convicted of illegally possessing pangolins and it seems having an ‘elderly mother’ to take care of may have won them both a more lenient sentencing.
